BIIC 2018, which was selected as a blockchain related event as a 'Representative Seoul MICE 2018' for the first time, was recognized for its sustainability by mobilizing more than 600 visitors to the event last year. Don Tapscott, chief thinker of blockchain, and David E. Rutter, CEO of R3CEV, participated in the event to promote interest in blockchain in Korea.

In particular, it is expected to play a bridging role among leading blockchain companies in Korea, which are planning to expand overseas, with the participation of the officials from institutions like French Embassy in Korea, the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Russian Trade Representative which officially sponsored this event.

BIIC 2018 has also a different preparation process. It is not a one-off event but rather started as a 'Blockchain Opinion Leader's Talk' in August with the theme of 'Korean Golden Time for Blockchain 2018'. Following the 'Blockchain Industry Leaders' Meeting in October,' BIIC 2018 is a long-term project for four months.

Through this process, many leading companies from both domestic and blockchain companies overseas participate and diagnose the present situation and crisis of the domestic market which is at the threshold of 'Golden Time'. In addition, it will provide practical measures to overcome this and it will be an important turningpoint for Korea to foresee the future going forward.
