PANews reported on December 24 that according to Cointelegraph, according to the website of the Securities Commission of Malaysia, Malaysia's securities regulator has included the Web3 wallet service Atomic Wallet in the list of financial companies prohibited from operating in the country because it "operates a digital asset exchange (DAX) without registration." The regulator did not elaborate further, but it is worth noting that Atomic Wallet was hacked in 2023, with losses exceeding $100 million, and has therefore become the subject of multiple lawsuits.
Atomic Wallet has been blacklisted along with several other cryptocurrency-related companies such as Crypto Trade Malaysia and Best Exchange that have been banned by the Securities Commission of Malaysia from operating in the country.
