PANews reported on January 2 that Evan Van Ness, founder of Ethereum News Weekly, announced that Week in Ethereum (WiE) has officially ended on January 1, 2025. Van Ness said that WiE has failed to find a sustainable business model because the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has stopped its symbolic support. He pointed out that EF's current perception of the value of WiE has decreased, and the community attaches less importance to the contributions of non-developers or researchers. In addition, he emphasized that although there is an opportunity to continue operations through fundraising, he prefers to focus on meaningful new projects, and admitted that as a founder, he has failed to transform WiE into a successful commercial product.
It is worth noting that the Ethereum Weekly Digest, produced by former Chain News Research Director and ChainFeeds co-founder Pan Zhixiong and others, has been published for three consecutive issues, which may be worth paying attention to.
