Korea Finance Minister: If We Have Details Of Cryptocurrency Transactions, We Will Treat Cryptocurrency As A Financial Asset
South Korean Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki stated that if the transaction details of cryptocurrency bank accounts can be fully systemized, they can tax the cryptocurrency and treat it as a financial asset. Hong Nam-ki stated that they will report cryptocurrency as other income and tax it next year. Since the crypto assets defined by the International Accounting Standards comply with their income tax system, cryptocurrency will be taxed as other income.
