PANews reported on October 29 that according to CoinDesk, the US cryptocurrency exchange Kraken recently announced that it will build the Layer-2 network Ink based on Optimism's OP Stack framework and become part of the "super chain" ecosystem. In an agreement reached earlier this year, the Optimism Foundation agreed to provide Kraken with 25 million OP tokens, which was worth about $100 million at the time and is now about $42.5 million.
This agreement allows Kraken to use OP Stack to create its custom Layer-2, and the tokens will be unlocked in batches on a monthly basis. In addition, Kraken has become another large participant after Coinbase, Uniswap and Sony to develop Layer-2 networks using OP Stack technology, further promoting the rapid expansion of the Optimism ecosystem.
