PANews reported on October 29 that according to the Wall Street Journal, new users of the X platform (formerly Twitter) will receive a large number of election and political tweets, many of which involve pro-Trump content, even if they choose non-political topics such as crafts, sports and cooking. The experiment showed that at least half of the tweets on the "Recommended for You" page of new accounts contained political content, and the frequency of pro-Trump content was about twice that of pro-Harris content.
Although Platform X claims that political content accounts for a limited proportion, the platform's algorithm frequently and repeatedly pushes political posts, making it difficult for new users to avoid them. Since Musk took over in 2022, Platform X has faced challenges such as advertisers withdrawing, and the platform's content recommendation strategy has a far-reaching impact on user experience and business performance.
