PANews reported on March 21 that according to CoinDesk, Paul Atkins, the SEC chairman nominee nominated by US President Trump, will attend the Senate Banking Committee confirmation hearing on March 27. Also present will be Jonathan Gould, nominee for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and Luke Pettit, nominee for Assistant Secretary of the Treasury.

Atkins was a former SEC commissioner and has long supported digital asset policies. If confirmed, he will continue the pro-crypto regulatory shift promoted by the Trump administration. As a key institution that regulates banks across the United States, the OCC may also play the role of a regulator of stablecoin issuance in the future. The relevant nomination will directly affect the compliance path of the crypto industry and the prospects for bank access.
