PANews reported on December 25 that according to Cryptoslate, according to a recent report by MV Global, driven by the practical Meme coin, DeSci is expected to achieve significant growth in 2025. DeSci involves integrating blockchain technology into scientific research, and its goal is to revolutionize the traditional scientific ecosystem by increasing transparency, decentralization, and collaboration. The report emphasizes that although such concepts are not new, the focus and scope of these initiatives have changed. Initially, most projects focused on research funding through DAO.

Notable examples include VitaDAO, HairDAO, and AxonDAO, which remain influential players in the DeSci space. However, the industry has changed significantly since then and is diversifying. The report highlights about 30 active projects with a variety of use cases, including research funding, health data management, and open source research initiatives. The report notes that this diversification reflects the growing maturity and adaptability of the DeSci ecosystem.

The report states that two projects, Rifampicin and Urolithin A, have gained significant attention, achieving market capitalizations of approximately $73 million and $59 million, respectively. These tokens were launched through the Pump.Science platform, and according to MV Global's assessment, they have more utility than traditional Meme coins. MV Global expects Pump.Science to achieve massive expansion in 2025, with at least 10 projects expected to have a market capitalization of more than $100 million by the end of the year.
