PANews reported on December 25 that according to The Defiant, venture capital database Pitchbook predicted in its 2025 Enterprise Technology Outlook report that venture capital firms will double their investment in cryptocurrencies next year, with investment exceeding US$18 billion, almost double the investment of US$9.9 billion in 2024.
Pitchbook analysts said that with the return of comprehensive venture capital firms to the blockchain and cryptocurrency fields and the participation of large financial institutions, venture capital firms focusing on cryptocurrencies will be strengthened; although the investment amount of US$18 billion is "much lower than US$24.7 billion in 2021 and US$29.8 billion in 2022, it is expected that the participation of major traditional financial institutions such as BlackRock, Franklin Templeton and Goldman Sachs will continue to enhance investor confidence in the cryptocurrency market; in addition to a large customer base, these institutions have brought legitimacy to the cryptocurrency industry and have the potential to accelerate the acceptance of digital assets by mainstream investors. They also bring expertise and long-term relationships with regulators, which will enable them to become "effective intermediaries, while complying with regulations, creating an environment of trust that cryptocurrency-native companies often find difficult to achieve."
