PANews reported on December 23 that according to Techcrunch, the X platform (formerly Twitter) raised the price of its premium subscription service Premium+ by 37.5% to $22 per month, which is the largest increase since Musk acquired the platform in 2022. The price adjustment will take effect in the US market first, and will be implemented on December 21. Existing users can maintain the original price until January 20, 2025.
International markets have also seen a simultaneous price increase: the monthly fee in the EU has increased from 16 euros to 21 euros, and in Canada from 20 Canadian dollars to 29 Canadian dollars. Some regions have seen even higher increases, such as Nigeria from 7,300 naira to 34,000 naira, and Turkey from 300 lira to 770 lira. The price of the platform's basic subscription service remains unchanged at $3 per month.
