PANews reported on December 9 that according to Business Insider, Trump recently announced that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) appointed William Joseph McGinley as a committee advisor.
Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, the department's head, have begun sharing details of DOGE's work, promising to staff the committee with "a crack team of small government reformers." DOGE told interested parties on the X account to attach a resume in a private message. Several Silicon Valley leaders, including investor Marc Andreessen and Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, are reportedly involved in planning the committee.
The DOGE co-leaders said they want to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget. In 2024, federal spending totals $6.75 trillion, nine-tenths of which goes to federal programs.
