Polkadot founder Gavin Wood revealed today (October 10) that Polkadot's XCMP, the cross-chain messaging function, may be delivered in the second half of this year or early next year (2021). Recently, another part of the XCM format of the cross-chain message has been completed. XCMP is part of the solution, and the XCM format is the definition of messages, that is, the standard way for chain interaction. In addition, regarding the progress of parachains, Gavin Wood pointed out the following details: 1.The Rococo testnet is still in progress; 2.Parachain technology: the team is in the process of addressing effectiveness and usability; 3.Cumulus is being tested in Rococo; 4.A new Rococo chain will be restarted; 5.The above milestones will be completed in the next one or two months; 6.Parachain will be launched on Polkadot at the end of the year or early next year, and will be deployed on Kusama first; 7.The on-chain process of parachains is gradual. And the first batch of parachains will not be generated through auctions, but system-level parachains, to reduce the burden on the relay chain and add more parachains.
