PANews reported on December 3 that the Web3 security team ScamSniffer published a statement saying that Web3 phishing attacks in November caused a loss of about $9.3 million, with a total of 9,208 victims. The largest single loss was the theft of $661,000 in stETH assets. In addition, the phishing attack also involved the theft of $409,000 in WBTC, $344,000 in FET, and $220,000 in USDT. The main means was malicious signature attacks.
Although the amount of losses in November decreased compared to October ($20.2 million) and September ($45.8 million), the number of victims remained high. The report also pointed out that after the Inferno Drainer team withdrew, Angel Drainer took over the related projects, and the phishing threat continued to evolve.
ScamSniffer advises users: Never rush to sign transactions; verify all signature requests; use anti-phishing tools and enhanced security wallets; and be cautious, as a single incorrect signature may result in the loss of assets.
