Tether's lobbying expenditures in 2024 were $360,000, a year-on-year decrease of about 71%.

PANews reported on December 29 that according to Protos, data compiled by OpenSecrets showed that Tether seemed to slow down some lobbying activities this year, spending $360,000 on FTI Government Affairs, a decrease of about 71% from $1.24 million in 2023. In 2022, it spent $480,000.

One of the lobbying firms that Tether hired back in 2023 was DMM Consulting, which also lobbied on behalf of El Salvador’s Bukele government. That same year, Tether’s sister company Bitfinex Securities became the first “digital asset service provider” in El Salvador, receiving a license allowing it to trade tokenized securities.
