PANews reported on December 31 that according to Coingape, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently expressed his views on the governance structure of the Cardano Foundation (CF), emphasizing that the Foundation's $600 million ADA fund lacks direct community representation in its allocation. He said that this lack of enthusiasm for supporting community projects (such as Catalyst) could hinder the growth of the ecosystem and pose a threat to future sustainability.

Hoskinson expressed disappointment in response to community member Rick McCracken’s criticism of leadership transparency and governance direction, and believed that these remarks were not conducive to community development. He also pointed out that the Cardano Foundation has no direct connection with IOHK (Input Output Global) and Emurgo, and called for strengthening the community’s supervision of the foundation.

Hoskinson also provided an update on the governance of Cardano, including the CIP-1694 proposal and the draft Cardano Charter. CIP-1694 aims to end the technical launch phase, build a decentralized decision-making framework, and allow the community to play a greater role in governance.
