PANews reported on January 30 that according to the announcement of CME Group, CME plans to launch Bitcoin Friday Futures (BFF) options on February 24, and is currently awaiting regulatory approval. This option is a financial settlement product, the underlying asset is CME's highest-volume small-volume Bitcoin futures contract (BFF), and provides daily expiration options from Monday to Friday.

Giovanni Vicioso, global head of cryptocurrency products at CME, said the option will provide a more efficient tool to help investors manage short-term Bitcoin price risks. Since its launch on September 30, 2024, the BFF contract has accumulated 775,000 transactions with a total volume of US$1.63 billion, of which 44% of transactions occurred during non-US market hours, showing global demand.
