PANews reported on March 22 that Politico reported that a network of super PACs funded by the crypto industry is preparing to support two Republican House candidates in Florida's special election on April 1. The network includes Fairshake, Defend American Jobs, and Protect Progress. American Jobs will first spend $1.2 million to run ads for Florida Senator Randy Fine, who aims to succeed former Congressman Michael Waltz, who resigned from the House of Representatives to become U.S. President Donald Trump's national security adviser. Fine posted on X on January 14: "Floridians want crypto innovation!" He also emphasized the need for "clear regulatory rules." Super PAC will invest $345,000 to support Jimmy Patronis, who plans to run for the seat of former Congressman Matt Gaetz. Patronis previously wrote to the Florida Board of Management, asking to study whether part of the state pension could be invested in digital assets.
Overall, there are four vacancies in the U.S. House of Representatives, two of which are in Florida. If the Democrats take all four seats, the result would be a Republican lead of just one in the House, a very narrow margin.
