PANews reported on November 4 that according to Cryptonews, Huawei has integrated the digital currency of the People's Bank of China (CBDC) - the digital RMB into its latest HarmonyOS NEXT (Hongmeng Galaxy Edition) operating system. The system is expected to cover up to 1 billion users, simplifying the process for users to use digital RMB through Huawei devices. HarmonyOS NEXT was released in October 2023 and is an operating system fully developed by Huawei, positioned as the world's third largest operating system.

This integration eliminates the need for users to download digital RMB applications separately, improving the usability and convenience of CBDC. In addition, Huawei plans to embed digital RMB in its Internet of Things (IoT) devices and chips to further broaden its application scenarios.

It was previously reported that the digital RMB has further promoted independent innovation and embedded itself into the Hongmeng system in a componentized manner .
