PANews reported on October 25 that according to Christine Kim, vice president of Galaxy Research, Ethereum core developers discussed and coordinated modifications to the Ethereum Execution Layer (EL) at the 199th Execution Layer Core Developers Call (ACDE). The meeting reaffirmed the decision to include EIP 7742 in the Pectra upgrade as a prerequisite for increasing blob capacity. Pectra Devnet 4 was launched on October 18, and developer Busa and his team will conduct further testing of clients on Devnet 4 in the coming weeks. The meeting discussed Erigon developers' proposal to gradually increase the block Gas limit from 30M to 60M (EIP 7790), but because no consensus was reached, Beiko suggested moving the discussion to other channels. Some developers said that before implementing EIP 7790, related issues such as EIP 4444 and EIP 7623 should be prioritized. In addition, the meeting also discussed various specification changes that Pectra Devnet 5 should include to ensure the smooth progress of the upcoming upgrade.
The latest Ethereum ACDE meeting: Pectra Devnet 4 was launched on October 18
