PANews reported on December 4 that Ripple announced that it had joined the global social impact movement Pledge 1%, pledging to use 1% of its profits to promote blockchain innovation, improve access to financial services, expand carbon markets, and employee-led local public welfare activities. Since the launch of Ripple Impact in 2018, the company has donated more than $180 million to support important projects such as financial resilience building, humanitarian aid, and academic blockchain research.
Through its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), Ripple has collaborated with more than 50 top academic institutions around the world, funded more than 1,500 blockchain research projects, and helped to open 600 fintech courses. In terms of sustainable development, Ripple has pledged to invest $100 million to expand the carbon market and promote transparency and efficiency in carbon credit trading.
