The author recently learned from the Maoming Branch of the People's Bank of China that the party and government agencies and public institutions in Maoming City have now fully implemented the digital RMB to issue subsidies.
In July this year, the Maoming Municipal Finance Bureau and the Maoming Branch of the People's Bank of China jointly issued the "Notice on the Pilot Work of Issuing Subsidies with Digital RMB". According to the requirements of the "Notice", Maoming's party and government agencies and public institutions began to fully implement the issuance of subsidies with digital RMB from September. As of the end of October, a total of 359 budget units in the city implemented the issuance of subsidies with digital RMB, and a total of 75,883 person-times of subsidies and allowances for administrative agencies and public institutions were issued with a total amount of 81.738 million yuan in pilot digital RMB.
At the same time, Maoming is also promoting the improvement of the quality, expansion and efficiency of the digital RMB pilot work and expanding multi-channel payment methods. In the next step, Maoming City will continue to promote the issuance of digital RMB for unified salary payments in budget units across the city. At the same time, it will actively promote the construction of a digital RMB application demonstration zone in Maonan Hedong area of Maoming City.
