PANews reported on October 26 that according to Cointelegraph, a fake application pretending to be the DeFi platform Curve Finance has ranked among the top 100 financial applications in the Apple App Store. Although multiple users have marked the application as a scam, it is still popular in Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, the United States, and Southeast Asia, putting unsuspecting users at risk.

The fraudulent app, called "Curve defi v3," was developed by "Tao Duong Van" and misleads users by mimicking the Curve Finance logo and features of the legitimate Curve platform. The app claims to offer features such as token swaps, liquidity staking, and DeFi services, but all reviewers rated it one out of five stars and noted "scam" or "hacker" in their written reviews. An image used by the fraudulent app claims that it has more than "30 million global users" in an attempt to establish false credibility and convince victims to download and use it.
