PANews reported on December 4 that according to DL News, Bitcoin is about to break through the $100,000 mark after soaring 129% this year. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Tuesday that people's skepticism about him is ridiculous. Adams said: "Remember when I first got Bitcoin, you all laughed at me. Who is laughing now? Now go and see my Bitcoin. You all laughed at me at the time, and now you wish you had done the same." In January 2022, when Adams took office, he received his first three paychecks in the form of Bitcoin and Ethereum, which was about $30,000 at the time.
On Tuesday, Adams declined to say how much cryptocurrency he holds. But according to his most recent financial disclosure statement, his Bitcoin holdings are between $5,000 and $54,999 by the end of 2023. The mayor is currently facing criminal charges of bribery and campaign finance violations. He has denied all wrongdoing.
