PANews reported on October 31 that Polygon co-founder Daniel Lubarov said on the X platform that its zero-knowledge proof system Plonky3 can now process more than 2 million Poseidon2 hash operations per second. This progress is mainly related to memory optimization, including avoiding data copying, skipping zeroing operations, and merging FFT steps to save content in cache.
In this regard, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said: "The Polygon team won the competition. The processing speed is equivalent to 62 MB of Merkle tree hash calculations per second, which is enough to complete the re-hash of Ethereum's maximum theoretical consensus state in a single slot."
