PANews reported on November 27 that according to Jinshi, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Raimondo spoke at the first meeting of the International Network of Artificial Intelligence Safety Institutes. Raimondo said that artificial intelligence technology is unprecedented in history and has the potential to significantly disrupt the job market. Governments must ensure the safety of artificial intelligence systems before they are released, emphasizing the need for rigorous testing and evaluation. Establishing international best practices for artificial intelligence safety is a top priority. Over the past year, progress has been made in promoting artificial intelligence safety, and relevant initiatives that were not previously available have now been established. The International Network of Artificial Intelligence Safety Institutes currently has 10 members, with plans to add more members in the future. The U.S. Department of Commerce's Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute focuses on identifying national security and public safety risks associated with artificial intelligence. A team of scientists and engineers is developing advanced methods for testing artificial intelligence models before and after deployment. The institute emphasizes scientific excellence rather than acting as a regulator. Its goal is to ensure that the government's artificial intelligence work is both smart and cutting-edge, and guided by science.
