PANews reported on January 4 that according to Cointelegraph, by the end of 2024, the United States accounted for more than 40% of the global hash rate of the Bitcoin network (the total computing power that protects the Bitcoin protocol), of which two mining pools in the United States, Foundry USA and MARA Pool, accounted for more than 38.5% of all mined blocks. Foundry USA's hash rate increased from 157 exahashes per second (EH/s) at the beginning of 2024 to about 280 EH/s in December. Foundry is currently the largest single mining pool by hash rate, controlling about 36.5% of the total hash rate of the Bitcoin network. The MARA mining pool currently accounts for about 32 EH/s, accounting for 4.35% of the total computing power.
