PANews reported on December 31 that TikTok's parent company ByteDance plans to invest up to $7 billion in 2025 to purchase Nvidia chips outside of China, according to a report by The Information, citing people familiar with the matter. The plan is led by co-founder Zhang Yiming and aims to support global business expansion. If the plan is implemented, ByteDance will become one of the world's largest hardware consumers.
In response, a ByteDance spokesperson said : The above information regarding the purchase of Nvidia chips is untrue.
