The US National Security Agency is using Mythos for hacking.

PANews reported on June 5th that, according to Semafor, the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) is using Anthropic's unreleased cutting-edge AI model, Mythos, for offensive cyber operations involving the discovery and exploitation of software vulnerabilities. This model, due to its powerful vulnerability discovery and exploitation capabilities, is only provided to specific organizations to help build defense systems, but the NSA is accused of using it for offensive purposes, and the U.S. government is currently engaged in legal proceedings with Anthropic over related issues. Furthermore, Cloudflare points out that much of current network traffic is generated by AI agents, some of which are malicious bots; while these open-source models are not as powerful as Mythos, their overall level is less than a year behind cutting-edge systems.
