PANews, May 10th - According to Xinhua News Agency, shipping tracking information updated on the 10th by the "Maritime Traffic Website" shows that a Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier has successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz and entered the Gulf of Oman, heading towards Pakistan. This is reportedly the first Qatari LNG carrier to pass through the Strait of Hormuz since the US-Israel military action against Iran began approximately 70 days ago. The tracking chart shows that the ship used a new shipping channel recently opened by Iran. The LNG carrier transmitted its location information via the Automatic Identification System (AIS) on May 9th, indicating it had entered the Strait of Hormuz, and subsequently ceased transmitting location signals for an extended period. The updated shipping tracking information on May 10th shows that the ship has successfully passed through the strait and entered the Gulf of Oman.
