PANews reported on January 28 that a new survey conducted by financial services provider Vyberu showed that more than one-fifth of Russian respondents had traded or held Meme coins. The survey subjects were 3,000 Russians aged between 18 and 60.
The survey also found that 15% of respondents said they bought Meme coins because they were influenced by "hype." In addition, 4% of respondents said they bought Meme coins for "quick profits." There are also 2% of respondents who said they invested in these coins to "support project creators."
Most people who said they had purchased Meme Coin said they believed it had good “growth potential,” and 23% of token buyers said they were attracted to the “cultural or satirical aspects” of Meme Coin.
6% of respondents were attracted by the active community and "fan base" of Meme coins. In addition, a quarter of respondents believed that the issuance of Meme coins was an "effective marketing move." However, nearly half of the respondents believed that Meme coins were a "temporary phenomenon" and a social media trend.
