PANews reported on April 2 that according to Cointelegraph, the crypto exchange Kraken announced that it has obtained the "restricted trader" registration qualification in Canada, marking an important milestone in its local compliance process. The license is regulated by the Ontario Securities Commission and consolidates its foundation for custody of more than 2 billion Canadian dollars in assets for Canadian customers. Gemini had previously withdrawn from the Canadian market at the end of 2024. Kraken also appointed former Gemini executive Cynthia Del Pozo as general manager of North America.
