PANews reported on October 26 that Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas revealed in an article on the X platform that the New York Stock Exchange plans to extend the weekday trading hours of its NYSE Arca stock exchange to 22 hours a day.
The New York Stock Exchange, which is part of the Intercontinental Exchange, said the new extended trading hours for its all-electronic trading platform NYSE Arca will be from 1:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
Kevin Tyrrell, head of market at the New York Stock Exchange, said: "The New York Stock Exchange's move to extend U.S. stock trading hours to 22 hours a day, all days of the week, highlights the strength of the U.S. capital markets and the growing global demand for our listed securities." He also said that he would seek support from the U.S. Securities Information Processing Corporation for expanding trading. These changes will be accompanied by updates to regulatory rules. The New York Stock Exchange said it would submit an updated framework to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
