PANews reported on January 13 that according to Protos, the Los Angeles home of Kevin Rose, founder of Moonbirds and PROOF, was completely burned down in the California wildfires. He shared the destroyed home and neighborhood scenes on social media, saying that "unfortunately, everything was lost."
The wildfire has destroyed about 10,000 buildings, killed at least 10 people, and evacuated about 180,000 people. The homes of celebrities including Mel Gibson and Paris Hilton were also damaged in the fire. Several cryptocurrency companies and their employees have also been threatened, and some crypto enthusiasts have lost funds due to the loss of wallets and credentials.
Kevin Rose, who founded PROOF in 2021 and sold it to Yuga Labs last year, previously lost an NFT collection worth about $2 million to a social engineering attack.
