North Carolina is the "swing state" with the second most electoral votes in this US presidential election, second only to Pennsylvania's 19 votes, the same as Georgia.

As of press time, Republican presidential candidate and former President Trump has won Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Wyoming, Louisiana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Texas, Missouri, Utah, Montana, Kansas, Iowa, Idaho, and North Carolina.

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Harris won Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Delaware, Illinois, New York, Colorado, Washington, and California.

The US presidential election adopts the Electoral College system. The 50 states allocate electoral votes according to population proportion. The winner is the candidate who obtains at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes.
