PANews reported on October 25 that according to Cointelegraph, blockchain browser and analysis provider Etherscan released the v2 beta, allowing developers to access data from 50 blockchain networks compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) using a single API key. For Etherscan, the API key can protect services and users at the same time, prevent unauthorized access, and allow data and services to be provided to approved users.

Etherscan v2's unified API makes it easier for developers to build applications on multiple chains and establish a single management point for blockchain data. A single API key reduces setup time, simplifies code, and maintains backward compatibility with v1, eliminating concerns about disruptions to existing applications and related services. Etherscan clarified that not all chain endpoints are currently supported, and while there is no timetable for deprecating v1, the blockchain browser plans to deprecate v1 over time.
