PANews reported on March 28 that Paul Grewal, Chief Legal Officer of Coinbase, published a post on the X platform revealing that he attended the Senate Banking Committee’s nomination hearing for Paul Atkins to serve as Chairman of the SEC and shared the key points of the meeting:

1. Atkins promised that the SEC would operate in a transparent manner and listen to industry and consumer input, a stark contrast to the past.

2. Atkins emphasized that digital assets are the focus of this year, and clear regulatory rules will promote innovation in the United States, open up new markets for investors, and enhance the United States' leadership in the global technology field.

3. Atkins and Jonathan Gould, the candidate for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), jointly stated that they will be committed to ending the "de-banking" phenomenon and push the SEC to return to "basic principles."

Grewal said Atkins' leadership will bring new vitality to the SEC and he looks forward to the Senate committee and the full Senate confirming his nomination as soon as possible.
