PANews reported on March 20 that Kraken is considering acquiring foreign exchange and futures trading platform NinjaTrader for $1.5 billion, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal citing sources. The announcement is expected to be made as early as Thursday. The deal will allow Kraken to use NinjaTrader's Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) license to offer cryptocurrency futures and derivatives in the United States.
