PANews reported on November 30 that according to Cailian News Agency, Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader of the U.S. House of Representatives, said that during Thanksgiving, members of the party were subjected to "violent threats", including bomb warnings and false reports to law enforcement agencies in an attempt to lure SWAT teams to the door to harm the homeowner. Before this, President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees had also encountered similar incidents. The incidents against Democratic members of the party included "detailed threats about placing pipe bombs in mailboxes and attempts to trick SWAT teams into going out, and all the messages were signed with 'MAGA' at the end," Jeffries said in a statement on Friday. The "MAGA" he mentioned refers to Trump's political slogan "Make America Great Again." Jeffries said that due to the quick response of law enforcement agencies, no devices were found, and members of Congress and their families were safe during the holiday. Some Democratic members from Connecticut said they were targeted by the Thanksgiving incident, including Representatives Jim Himes, Rosa DeLauro and Jahana Hayes. They posted the threats they received on the X social media platform.
