PANews reported on January 16 that according to CoinDesk, the British government appointed Emma Reynolds as Minister of Economic Affairs, replacing Tulip Siddiq who resigned due to a corruption investigation. Reynolds will be responsible for digital assets, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and broader financial policies. Previously, she served as managing director of TheCityUK and said that the UK can learn from the EU's crypto policy. The UK is currently promoting stablecoin and crypto regulations, and relevant legislation is expected to be introduced early this year.
