A healthy and diverse gateway network is key to AR.IO’s vision of creating the first permanent cloud network . To foster growth and resilience of the network, AR.IO is pleased to announce the Gateway Operator Incentive Program (GOIP).
GOIP aims to support the construction of a strong, decentralized network of gateways that will become the cornerstone of the Permaweb. By providing ARIO token incentives, we hope to attract passionate, committed, and capable operators to contribute to the long-term success of the network.
Members participating in the program will operate gateways based on their own use cases, as long as they comply with network standards.
The program will support up to 50 teams , providing initial funding as well as opportunities for further growth and recognition:
- The team will receive an initial ARIO grant, at least enough to join the network
- At the same time, a 12-month foundation commission support will be provided
- Participants get to keep their funding and any earnings generated
- Outstanding teams that have made outstanding contributions to network growth, community engagement, and protocol development will be eligible for further funding
This is an important step towards mainnet and achieving the network’s goal of decentralized access to a permanent network.
Both new and existing gateway operators are eligible to apply to participate .
GOIP Eligibility Criteria
As a minimum requirement to participate in the GOIP, applicants must:
- Commitment to operate the gateway for 1 year and maintain healthy network performance.
- Successfully complete the due diligence screening process.
In addition, the following criteria may also influence the final selection process:
- Existing contributions to the AR.IO network
- Current contributions to Arweave
- Existing contributions to the wider Web3 ecosystem
- Willing to contribute to the continued development of the protocol and related tools
- Quality and diversity of infrastructure
- Operate in regions that contribute to increased geographic diversity of gateways
- Potential for further growth of the Permalink network within and beyond the Arweave ecosystem

We welcome all teams, projects, foundations and communities committed to network development and promoting decentralization to apply to participate in the Gateway Operator Incentive Program (GOIP) .
The selected teams will play a key role in helping AR.IO achieve its vision: decentralized access to Arweave and the Perpetual Web, and be incentivized in ARIO tokens for their contributions.
