On January 2, according to official news, Mint Blockchain, a blockchain network focusing on the NFT ecosystem, announced the launch of the "NFT Legends Season" event, which will airdrop $MINT to eligible blue-chip NFT holders and historical NFT trading users. This airdrop event covers 58 EVM blue-chip NFT holders including Cryptopunks, BAYC, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Doodles, etc., as well as historical trading users with a trading volume of more than 20 ETH on OpenSea, Blur, and OKX Web3 platforms. 06/ Telegram adds new features such as “Convert gifts into NFT” and “Third-party verification”
On January 2, Techcrunch reported that Telegram has released its first update this year, adding a third-party-supported account verification method, a new message search filter, and the ability to convert gifts into NFTs. Accounts verified by a third party will display a unique new logo instead of the traditional blue check mark. Telegram has also introduced a way to convert gifts into NFTs with custom backgrounds and icons. Users can give gifts by spending Telegram Stars, which can be purchased through in-app purchases or on the Fragment website after connecting to a TON crypto wallet. Telegram said users will be able to trade these NFTs on different platforms.

On January 2, the NFT sales data on 23 blockchains tracked by CryptoSlam showed that the total NFT sales in December 2024 was approximately US$889 million, up 58.35% from US$561 million in November. Among these sales, NFT sales on the Ethereum chain accounted for 54.92%, or approximately US$488 million, ranking first. NFT sales on the Bitcoin chain accounted for 19.96%, or approximately US$178 million, ranking second. On January 3, TAMPA reported that Berman Jerry Nowlin, the developer of the UndeadApes project on Solana, who was previously convicted by U.S. federal prosecutors, committed suicide two weeks ago at the age of 21. Earlier in November, a federal jury in Florida, the United States, found Nowlin guilty of federal wire fraud and money laundering, and sentencing is scheduled for January 23, 2025.
10/Data: NFT sales this week fell 17.54% month-on-month to $132.7 million
On January 5, data showed that NFT sales fell 17.54% month-on-month to $132.7 million this week. Ethereum NFT sales fell 25.72% to $56 million, but the number of buyers increased 14.35% to 72,241. Bitcoin NFT bucked the trend, with sales rising 8.38% to $30.3 million. The number of buyers reached 67,423, up 13.68% from the previous week.
