PANews reported on January 14 that according to Bloomberg, the U.S. Department of Justice plans to release the final report of special prosecutor Jack Smith, accusing Donald Trump of illegally conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Previously, the report had been sent to some members of Congress.
Smith said in the report that the evidence collected by his office was sufficient to convict President-elect Trump at trial, but because Trump was about to return to office, the relevant procedures could not be advanced. Court documents on January 11 showed that Smith had resigned from the position of special prosecutor and left the Justice Department.
