PANews reported on April 23 that according to Cointelegraph, the crypto exchange Coinbase announced that it will set up a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and plans to recruit more than 130 local employees in the next six months, with positions mainly concentrated in the compliance and customer support departments. A company spokesperson said that Charlotte was chosen because the city is emerging as a fintech center, and its rapidly growing population and high-quality talent pool will support Coinbase's long-term development. It is worth noting that Coinbase still maintains a "remote-first" work model, and about 95% of employees can choose to work from home or hybrid work.

The expansion is in line with the recruitment plan announced by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong on March 7. Influenced by the Trump administration's pro-crypto policy, the company plans to add about 1,000 new jobs across the United States this year, which, if completed, will increase the total number of employees by 27%. However, the spokesperson emphasized that the expansion in Charlotte is mainly based on local talent advantages, not political factors.
