The three major U.S. stock indexes opened sharply lower, and gold stocks rose across the board

PANews reported on April 16 that the US stock market opened with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.47%, the S&P 500 down 1.17%, and the Nasdaq down 1.89%. Gold stocks generally rose, with Harmony Gold (HMY.N) up more than 7%, Gold Fields (GFI.N) up nearly 7%, Anglogold up 6%, and Colden Mining (CDE.N) up more than 3%. AMD (AMD.O) fell more than 7%.

Blockchain concept stocks fell across the board at the opening, with MARA Holdings (MARA), Strategy (MSTR.O), and Coinbase (COIN.O) all falling by 1-2%.
