Polkadot (DOT), launched in 2020 by Ethereum co-founder Dr. Gavin Wood, is a blockchain network that supports multi-chain interoperability. It allows the secure transfer of any type of data between different public chains and provides unified security for all parachains through an innovative shared security model, with a relay chain providing unified security guarantees. DOT is the network's native token, undertaking core functions such as governance, staking, and binding.
