PANews reported on May 7th that Blitzy, a US-based AI code proxy startup, has completed a $200 million funding round, valuing the company at $1.4 billion post-money and bringing its total funding to over $204 million, making it the latest unicorn in the Boston area. The round was led by Northzone, with participation from PSG, Battery Ventures, Jump Capital, Morgan Creek Digital, and strategic investors including Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures. Founded in 2023 by former US Army Ranger and serial entrepreneur Brian Elliott and former NVIDIA architect Sid Pardeshi, Blitzy provides an automated software development platform capable of reverse-engineering enterprise systems at levels exceeding 100 million lines of code and coordinating thousands of AI agents to work in parallel for extended periods. It claims to increase enterprise development efficiency by up to five times, with over 80% of tasks automated by AI. The new funding will be used to expand its R&D and sales teams and to expand its client base in regulated sectors such as government, financial services, and insurance.
