PANews reported on December 8 that according to ledgerinsights, Switzerland-based crypto asset management company 21shares has hired Russell Barlow of abrdn as CEO of 21shares and his colleague Duncan Moir as president. abrdn is one of the largest asset management companies in the UK, with assets under management (AUM) approaching $650 billion. 21.co also announced a reorganization to split its technology division into an independent company, 21.co Technologies, but under 21.co Holdings. Since the middle of this year, 21Shares' asset management scale has increased by two-thirds and now exceeds $10 billion. This partly reflects the rise in cryptocurrency prices during this period. 21.co founders Hany Rashwan and Ophelia Snyder will serve as co-chairmen of 21Shares and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the technology company. 21Shares also promoted Andres Valencia internally as executive vice president of investment management.
