a16z released its 2025 "Big Ideas" annual report on the crypto industry, proposing a number of development trends worthy of attention: AI wallets become the basis for autonomous agents; decentralized autonomous chatbots (DAC); DUNA becomes the new standard for DAO governance; "hidden complexity" promotes Web3 killer applications; and non-traditional assets are tokenized.

Cross-chain protocol Wormhole announced that its W token staking reward program (SRP) is officially online. Users can now stake W tokens on Solana and EVM chains including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base. The first reward period dates back to June 6, 2024, when EVM chain staking starts, and no less than 50 million W tokens will be distributed as rewards. The program runs through the newly launched W Dashboard, where users can manage staking, view detailed metrics and track rewards. Cross-chain protocol Synapse announced that its full-chain abstraction solution Synapse Intents Network (SIN) has officially launched the mainnet. In January of this year, Synapse's intention cross-chain system RFQ has been deployed on multiple networks such as Ethereum, Optimism, and Arbitrum, reducing the processing time of cross-chain transactions from 20 minutes to 3 seconds, and the cost is 81% lower than the average of competitors. It currently accounts for 90% of the protocol's cross-chain transaction volume. The newly launched SIN system supports off-chain bidding to obtain cross-chain quotes. It is the first decentralized intent network with real-time fraud proof, which can support the relay function of any assets and operations. In terms of token economy, Synapse plans to repurchase 5 million SYN tokens with a budget of approximately US$3.5 million, and cut the issuance of tokens by 70%, reducing the circulation by approximately 2.5 million SYN per year, while transforming to proof-of-stake (POS) and fee-based network models.
