PANews reported on April 2 that according to Decrypt, Sony Electronics Singapore said in a statement on Tuesday that it had enabled USDC payments through the payment service of the cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com, marking the company's first direct cryptocurrency transactions locally. The feature allows customers to check out using USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. Currently, the feature is limited to Sony's online store and can only be used through Crypto.com's payment system. Although only one cryptocurrency is currently supported, Sony said it plans to add support for other cryptocurrencies in the future.
