PANews reported on February 27 that according to CoinDesk, Core Scientific (CORZ) announced a 12-year, $1.2 billion data center expansion agreement with CoreWeave to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities. The expansion will increase Core Scientific's total estimated revenue to $10.2 billion.

The Denton data center will add 70MW of power capacity, bringing its total IT load to 260MW. CoreWeave's total hosting scale in Core Scientific's data center will be expanded to 590MW to support the high-density computing needs of NVIDIA GPUs. This move pushed Core Scientific's stock price up more than 11% after the market. The company said it is looking for more sites to expand its HPC hosting capabilities to meet the growing needs of AI and cloud computing.
